5 MBBS Students Killed in Kerala Road Accident, Car Collides With Bus
Five first-year MBBS students lost their lives, and two others were critically injured in a tragic road accident in Kerala’s Alappuzha district on Monday night. The accident occurred at approximately 9 pm when their Tavera car collided with a Kerala State Road Transportation Corporation (KSRTC) passenger bus.
The crash was devastating, with the car completely mangled due to the impact. Visuals from the scene showed the twisted remains of the vehicle, shattered windows, and significant damage to the bus’s front bonnet. Emergency responders had to cut through the wreckage to retrieve the victims.
The deceased students were identified as Mohammed, Muhasin, Ibrahim, Devanand, and Shreedeep. While three of them died at the scene, two succumbed to their injuries en route to the hospital. The two surviving students were rushed to Alappuzha Medical College Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
The victims were first-year medical students from Vandanam Medical College. According to the police, the state bus was on its way from Guruvayur to Kayamkulam when the accident occurred. Four passengers on the bus sustained minor injuries and are reported to be in stable condition.
Locals stated that the car was attempting to overtake another vehicle when it suddenly braked, skidded, and collided with the bus. The exact sequence of events leading to the accident is under investigation.

The tragic loss of these young lives has left the local community in shock. Alappuzha district officials and police are working to ascertain the precise cause of the crash. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and the risks posed by high-speed driving.
