Niranjani and Anand Akharas
The Niranjani Akhara, known for its focus on yoga, meditation, and spiritual teachings, played a prominent role in the Shahi Snan. This Akhara emphasizes inner exploration and spiritual awakening, attracting devotees seeking transformative experiences.
The Anand Akhara, devoted to worshiping Suryanarayana, the Sun God, also holds a significant place in the Maha Kumbh. Renowned for its educational contributions, the Akhara runs institutions teaching Hindu scriptures, yoga, meditation, and even martial arts.
Thirteen Akharas Unite for Holy Dip
As per tradition, sadhus from all 13 Sanatan Dharma akharas participated in the Shahi Snan. These akharas are categorized into three sects—Sanyasi (Shaivite), Bairagi (Vaishnav), and Udaseen. Each sect brought its unique practices to the gathering, uniting for the common purpose of spiritual rejuvenation.
The Shaivite akharas included Juna Akhada, Niranjani Akhara, Atal Akhada, Mahanirvani Akhada, and Anand Akhara, among others. The holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, regarded as a purifying ritual, is believed to cleanse one’s soul and absolve sins.
Speaking on the significance of the Maha Kumbh, Kumar Swami Ji Maharaj from Anand Akhara expressed his gratitude, stating, “This gathering is unparalleled in its peace and spirituality. It is a moment of joy and divine connection. Our saints and scriptures have always emphasized global peace and harmony. Being here is a blessing.”
He urged all believers to visit the Maha Kumbh, emphasizing its role in fostering unity and spiritual enlightenment.
