BIT Sindri and SAIL Burnpur Collaborate on Implementing Industry 4.0
BIT Sindri and SAIL Burnpur have come together to work on the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) and discussed ways to implement it through joint cooperation. During the meeting, BIT Sindri’s director, Prof DK Singh, discussed the importance of training students in BTech, MTech, and PhD programs with new technologies and techniques to solve industrial problems. The goal is to bridge the gap between technical institutions and the industry.
Dr. Rajiv Kumar, SAIL Burnpur’s executive director, expressed satisfaction with the meeting and announced that his team has identified some industrial problems that BIT Sindri students will solve. The project will be a joint effort between SAIL Burnpur and BIT Sindri, said Dr. Rajiv Kumar.
Sanjiv Ranjan Das, SAIL’s Chief General Manager (CGM), provided details on the industrial problems identified by the company, including converters, re-hitting furnish, and the development of Mills Digital Twine. Dipak Jain (CGM), Dipak Kumar (Senior Manager), and Vikash Kumar (Manager) of SAIL explained the project and problems at the meeting.
During the meeting, students from various faculties showcased their Model Project to visiting SAIL authorities, who highly appreciated it. SAIL officers also inaugurated ‘Techfest 23′ on the campus. The event was conducted by Prof. Rajiv Ranjan, and Prof. Md Abul Kalam, Prof. Ghanshyam, and Prof. Rvjiv Verma also addressed the function.
The collaboration between BIT Sindri and SAIL Burnpur is a step towards creating a workforce with the necessary skills to drive Industry 4.0 in India. It’s a move towards a more technologically advanced and digitally-driven future.
