Body of 20-Year-Old Found Near Mall in Bistupur: Police Yet to Ascertain Cause of Death
The body of a 20-year-old youth, Raj Nayak, was found near P&M Mall in Bistupur, Jamshedpur, on Thursday morning. Nayak, a resident of Bhatia Bustee in Kadma, had left his house on Wednesday evening.
The police, who arrived on the scene after a patrolling party found the body, are not immediately able to conclude whether it is a case of road mishap or murder as there were no external injury marks except on the face. The deceased’s Maruti Dzire was parked along the road about 25 metres away from the spot, with Nayak’s wallet and phone lying inside the car.
CCTV footage from the bar where Nayak was found alone and drunk before his death has been obtained by the police. DSP (Composite Control Room) Animesh Gupta has stated that the cause of Nayak’s death can only be determined after the autopsy report is made available.
Meanwhile, Nayak’s father, Birendra Nath Verma, has accused one of his son’s friends of committing the murder. The police have shifted the body to the MGM medical college mortuary for postmortem.
