Chirag Paswan Addresses Rallies in Dhanbad and Jharia; claims 25 Crore Lifted Out of Poverty in a Decade

Union Minister Chirag Paswan, addressing rallies in Dhanbad and Jharia on the final day of campaigning for the Jharkhand assembly elections, claimed that more than 25 crore Indians have been lifted out of poverty over the last decade. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) national president was campaigning in support of BJP candidates Ragini Singh and Raj Sinha in the Jharia and Dhanbad assembly constituencies, respectively.

At a rally in Jharia, Paswan praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and economic reforms. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked to give respect to every caste and every class. Every person now has a substantial income. This is PM Modi’s gift,” he stated. Paswan also highlighted the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, calling it a historic moment under Modi’s leadership.

Criticism of Opposition and Defense of BJP Policies

Targeting the opposition, Paswan accused them of creating fear about threats to the Constitution and democracy. He referenced past political events, saying, “Today they claim there’s a conspiracy to change the Constitution. Where were they during the Emergency in 1975 when democracy and the Constitution were trampled upon?”

Paswan assured voters of his commitment to safeguarding reservations and the Constitution. “I swear by the struggles of my father, Ram Vilas Paswan, that as long as Chirag Paswan is alive, neither reservation nor the Constitution will be in danger,” he declared.

Advocacy for Tribal and Marginalized Communities

Paswan criticized the opposition for neglecting tribal leaders and icons such as Lord Birsa Munda. “They did not allow the picture of Lord Birsa Munda in Parliament, yet today they criticize when PM Modi organizes Tribal Pride Day on his birth anniversary,” he said. He also pointed out how Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s contributions were ignored in the past but are now celebrated under Modi’s leadership.

Call to Action for BJP Candidates

Encouraging voters in Dhanbad and Jharia to support BJP candidates Raj Sinha and Ragini Singh, Paswan urged the electorate to ensure their victory. “We have to go door-to-door for our sister Ragini Singh and appeal to the people to vote for her,” he emphasized at the rally in Jharia.

Paswan reiterated that opposition parties are a threat to the progress and welfare of the poor, accusing them of stalling initiatives aimed at bringing marginalized communities into the mainstream. “They do not want the poor to join the mainstream and earn respect,” he alleged.
