Tech Mahindra, a major player in the IT industry, has announced that Infosys President Mohit Joshi will be joining the company as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. This news comes as a major blow to Infosys, with Joshi having served at the company since 2000. Joshi’s last day with Infosys will be on June 9, 2023.

Infosys issued a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange, expressing their gratitude for Joshi’s contributions to the company. During his time at Infosys, Joshi oversaw the Financial Services and Healthcare/Life Sciences businesses. Additionally, he was the Chairman of Edgeverve Systems Ltd and played a key role in the development of Finacle, the firm’s software business that includes its Global banking platform.

Prior to joining Infosys, Joshi worked with ANZ Grindlays and ABN AMRO in their Corporate and Investment bank. He has an MBA from Delhi University and a Bachelor’s degree in history from St. Stephen’s College in Delhi. Joshi’s achievements include being invited to the Global Young Leader program at the World Economic Forum in 2014. He also serves as the Vice Chair of the Economic Growth Board of Confederation of British Industry and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization.

This move is expected to have a major impact on both companies, with Tech Mahindra set to gain from Joshi’s extensive experience in the IT sector. Meanwhile, Infosys will need to look for a new leader to fill Joshi’s shoes and maintain its position as a leading provider of digital services and consulting.
