Major Drug Bust in Jamshedpur: 42 Brown Sugar Packets Seized
In a well-orchestrated move, authorities in Jamshedpur swooped down on a notorious gathering point behind the Town Hall in the Sidhgora thana district, arresting four individuals allegedly involved in the illicit drug trade.
The Arrest and Recovery
Based on credible intel, the police cornered the suspects, subsequently recovering a substantial 42 packets of “brown sugar”, a commonly abused narcotic. Additionally, cash amounting to Rs 2,600 was seized from the perpetrators.
The detainees, now identified as Aman Kumar, Suraj Yadav, Manish Prasad, and Bijay Lohar, all hail from separate urban slums within the Sidhgora Thana region.
Detailing the operation’s intricacies, Sidhgora thana OC, Ranjit Kumar, shared how intel had pointed towards the recurring assembly of youths near a public restroom behind Town Hall, purportedly for drug consumption.
“In response to this tip, we assembled a team under the guidance of senior SP, Prabhat Kumar to conduct the raid. As our team closed in, three individuals evaded arrest. However, we successfully detained four individuals and, upon inspection, uncovered the drugs and money,” Kumar informed members of the press.
This significant bust showcases the ongoing efforts by the Jamshedpur police to combat the drug menace and maintain law and order within the community.
