India’s Infrastructure Revolution
Modi unveiled this message during the inauguration ceremony of the modernized Pragati Maidan in Delhi. He said, “From east to west, north to south, India’s infrastructure is changing… The world’s highest rail bridge in India, the longest tunnel at the highest altitude is in India, the highest motorable road, the largest stadium, the largest statue — all of it is in India”. The PM was assertive that this robust infrastructural development will match the lofty economic aspirations of the nation.

India’s Trajectory Under Modi’s Leadership
Reflecting upon the nation’s economic journey, Modi delineated its ascent. “In our first term, India was in the 10th spot in terms of economy. In my second term, it is the world’s fifth largest economy.” Projecting the future, he confidently remarked, “In my third term, India will stand among the top three economies. And this is Modi’s guarantee.”
Decades of Economic Progress: A Lookback
At the newly renamed International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre, “Bharat Mandapam”, the Prime Minister showcased a comparative analysis of the nation’s growth. He juxtaposed the last nine years of progress against the accumulated growth observed since India’s independence six decades ago. He underscored achievements such as the electrification of 40,000 km rail lines in the recent nine years compared to 20,000 km in the previous 60 years. Notably, he added, “Now every month, we are completing 6 km metro line, less than 4 lakh km of village roads… In 2014, Delhi airport’s capacity was around 5 crore a year. Now it is 7.5 crore… The number of airports has reached 150.”
Opposition’s Resistance and Modi’s Response
Without mincing words, PM Modi touched upon the obstacles faced from opposition factions. Referring to centers like the Bharat Mandapam, which elevate the nation’s global standing, he commented on the “negative minded” individuals who sought to derail such initiatives. He pointedly remarked, “These people tried to stop this Bharat Mandapam. It is some people’s compulsion to stop every work.” Addressing the extensive media coverage and legal challenges, he expressed, “I am confident that after a while, those people will come here for some lectures or event.”
Economic growth is more than just numbers; it represents opportunities, progress, and an improved quality of life for the citizens. With the visionary leadership of PM Modi, India aspires to redefine its global economic position. The upcoming years are crucial, and only time will determine if this vision becomes a transformative reality for the nation.
