Nagaland Assembly Election 2023: Voting Begins, Major Parties Contesting to Secure Majority
The much-awaited Nagaland Assembly Elections 2023 have finally commenced. The Northeastern state is witnessing a four-cornered electoral battle with the ruling National Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and its ally Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) going head-to-head with the Congress and the Naga People’s Front (NPF). The Communist Party of India (CPI) is also contesting the elections.
With over 2 million eligible voters, polling for the Nagaland Assembly Elections 2023 is being held in 59 assembly constituencies across the state. The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements to ensure a smooth and peaceful voting process.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have both urged the people of Nagaland to come out and exercise their franchise. They have also praised the efforts of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in the development of the state.
