Major Road Projects Announced
During his visit, Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation for infrastructure projects worth ₹3,700 crore. These initiatives aim to enhance Bihar’s connectivity and make the state a hub of cultural and economic activity.Key Projects Highlighted:
- Bakhtiyarpur-Rajauli Section Expansion
The Bakhtiyarpur-Rajauli section of National Highway-20 will be expanded to improve connectivity between Bihar and Jharkhand. This development will benefit districts like Nawada, fostering regional growth. - Hasanpur-Bakhtiyarpur Road Widening
The road linking Hasanpur to Bakhtiyarpur will be widened to facilitate smoother travel between Nalanda and Patna, two vital districts. The upgrade is expected to bolster trade and tourism in areas like Bodh Gaya and Rajgir. - Rajouli-Haldia Road Development
The widening of the road from Rajouli to Haldia aims to create stronger economic links between Bihar and its neighboring states.

- Mokama-Munger Highway Upgrade
A 90-kilometer stretch between Mokama and Munger will be upgraded at a cost of ₹5,100 crore. This project is expected to ease transportation and enhance regional trade. - Rail Overbridges in Nine Cities
Eleven rail overbridges will be constructed across nine cities in Bihar with an investment of ₹1,250 crore, aimed at reducing traffic congestion and improving safety. - Patna’s Greenfield Ring Road
One of the most ambitious initiatives is a ₹10,000 crore greenfield ring road around Patna. This project is designed to alleviate traffic congestion in the state capital while improving connectivity across the region.
