Police Summon Wife of Atul Subhash in Suicide Investigation

Bengaluru police have intensified their investigation into the high-profile suicide case of techie Atul Subhash, issuing a notice to his wife, Nikita Singhania, and her family. The notice directs them to appear before the Marathahalli Police Station in Bengaluru within three days for interrogation.

A police team, including a female officer, visited the Singhania family’s residence in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, to deliver the summons. The notice cites “reasonable grounds” for questioning to ascertain facts and circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

The Tragic Death of a Bengaluru Techie

On Monday, police discovered Atul Subhash, originally from Bihar and employed by a private firm in Bengaluru, hanging in his apartment. The flat was bolted from the inside, requiring police to break in. Alongside his body, they found a 24-page suicide note in which Subhash detailed allegations of prolonged emotional harassment by his wife, her family, and even a judge in Uttar Pradesh.

The note was striking, with “Justice is Due” written on every page. Subhash accused his wife of filing nine false cases against him, including allegations of murder, sexual misconduct, harassment for money, domestic violence, and dowry.

Allegations Against Wife of Atul Subhash and Her Family

Subhash’s brother, Bikas Kumar, lodged a formal complaint alleging that Nikita Singhania and her family demanded ₹3 crore to settle disputes following their divorce. The complaint also references instances of harassment through legal cases, which Subhash claimed had caused immense emotional distress.

The couple, who married in 2019, had a child together. Subhash’s note included a plea for his parents to be granted custody of his son, whom he claimed had been kept away from him.

Shocking Revelations in Suicide Note and Video

The 24-page note and a recorded video revealed harrowing details of Subhash’s alleged ordeal. He accused a family court judge in Jaunpur of bias and even claimed to have witnessed bribes being accepted in court. Subhash’s last wishes included a request for his ashes not to be immersed until justice was served.

In his video, Subhash described the events that led him to take his own life, urging his family to continue the fight for justice.

Police Action and Next Steps

The summons issued by Bengaluru police marks a critical step in unraveling the events leading to Subhash’s tragic death. Legal experts note that this case underscores the psychological toll of prolonged litigation and the complexities of custody and divorce disputes.

The investigation’s findings are expected to shed light on whether the allegations against Singhania and her family hold merit, with broader implications for similar cases in the country.

As the case unfolds, Subhash’s family remains resolute in their pursuit of justice, bringing attention to systemic issues in legal processes and their impact on mental health.
