Priyanka Gandhi in Jharkhand, Celebrates Tribal Culture
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took to the streets of Ranchi, Jharkhand, on Tuesday, immersing herself in the vibrant local culture by joining a traditional folk dance.
This joyful participation was shared widely on social media, where she reflected on her grandmother, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s deep admiration for tribal culture. “My grandmother Indira Gandhi used to say that the best culture in the world is that of the tribal people who worship nature and protect it in every way. Today many colours of folk culture were seen in Ranchi,” she posted.

After the cultural celebration in Ranchi, Priyanka Gandhi traveled over 300 kilometers to Godda, where she delivered a powerful speech at an election rally. Here, she launched a scathing critique of the BJP, accusing the ruling party of attempting to alter the Constitution and undermine reservations essential for the empowerment of marginalized communities. “Hemant Soren ji, the voice of the tribal society and Jharkhand, was put in jail before the elections. On the other hand, BJP leaders are constantly talking about changing the Constitution. By doing this, they want to snatch the rights of the tribals, Dalits, backward and deprived. We will not let this happen at any cost. Today, the people of the entire country are united with us to save democracy and the Constitution,” she asserted in a social media post.
During her address in Godda, Priyanka Gandhi emphasized the Congress party’s unwavering commitment to protecting tribal rights. She contrasted this with the BJP’s policies, which she described as favoring the wealthy at the expense of ordinary citizens. Highlighting the importance of reservations for tribal and other marginalized communities, she accused the BJP of trying to erode these constitutional protections.
Priyanka Gandhi also directed her criticism towards Nishikant Dubey, the BJP candidate from Godda. She accused Dubey of neglecting his constituency and prioritizing corporate interests over the needs of the people. This accusation was part of a broader narrative that painted the BJP as a party disconnected from the struggles of the common people, particularly women, farmers, and the youth.
In her rally, Priyanka Gandhi outlined the Congress party’s vision for Jharkhand, focusing on the empowerment of marginalized communities and the protection of their rights. She pledged that a Congress-led government would prioritize the needs of women, farmers, and youth, who she claimed have been consistently overlooked by the BJP administration.
