Hindi Version Drives Exceptional Success
A significant contributor to the film’s massive earnings is its Hindi version, which has outperformed the original Telugu release. The Hindi version earned ₹285.7 crore nett within the first four days, marking an unprecedented achievement. According to Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 garnered ₹141.5 crore nett in India on December 8, with ₹85 crore coming from the Hindi version alone. The Telugu version contributed ₹44 crore, while Tamil Nadu added ₹9.5 crore.
The Malayalam and Kannada versions also played a role, earning ₹1.9 crore and ₹1.1 crore nett, respectively, on Sunday. The total four-day domestic collection stands at ₹529.45 crore nett, with the Hindi version emerging as a key player in the film’s success.
A Sequel That Lives Up to Expectations
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 continues the story of red sandalwood smuggling, picking up where its predecessor, Pushpa: The Rise (2021), left off. The sequel showcases Allu Arjun reprising his role as Pushpa Raj, alongside Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil as Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. The ensemble cast also includes notable performances by Jagapathi Babu, Dhananjaya, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, and Anasuya Bharadwaj.
