PV Sindhu Engaged, she announced: Indian badminton sensation and double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu has announced her engagement to Hyderabad-based Venkata Datta Sai, an Executive Director at Posidex Technologies. The news was shared on social media, where a picture of the couple exchanging rings and laughing together quickly went viral. The two are scheduled to marry on December 22 in Udaipur, with pre-wedding festivities beginning on December 20. A reception will follow in Hyderabad.

Sindhu’s father revealed that while the two families have known each other for some time, the wedding plans came together within just a month. The couple selected the date to accommodate Sindhu’s rigorous training and competition schedule, which resumes early next year.
A Stellar Career in Badminton
PV Sindhu holds a storied legacy in Indian sports. She is the only Indian to clinch gold at the BWF World Championships in 2019 and the second Indian individual athlete to win two consecutive Olympic medals. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Sindhu secured a silver medal, becoming the first Indian badminton player to reach an Olympic final. In the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, she added a bronze medal to her illustrious career.
Her achievements at the World Badminton Championships are equally commendable, with five medals to her name. Sindhu is one of only two women, alongside China’s Zhang Ning, to accomplish this feat in singles competition.
Who is Venkata Datta Sai
Venkata Datta Sai, Sindhu’s fiancé, is an accomplished professional with a background in liberal arts, data science, and finance. A graduate of FLAME University, Pune, and the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore, he holds a Master’s degree in Data Science and Machine Learning.
Venkata has extensive experience in the corporate world, starting with roles at JSW as an intern and consultant. Since 2019, he has served as the Managing Director of Sour Apple Asset Management while also working as an Executive Director at Posidex Technologies. In his LinkedIn profile, Venkata highlights his work in developing proprietary solutions for instant credit score matching, which are deployed across leading Indian banks like HDFC and ICICI.
