Saif Ali Khan Attack: A Harrowing 30-Minute Ordeal
A knife attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence has left the film industry in shock and raised serious concerns about security in one of Mumbai’s most upscale neighborhoods. The dramatic incident unfolded late at night when an intruder broke into the actor’s home, leaving him injured and sparking a tense 30-minute struggle.

Saif Ali Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital with six stab wounds, including a critical injury to his spine. After undergoing surgery, the actor is reported to be out of danger.

Intruder’s Entry
Police investigations have revealed that the attacker entered the Satguru Sharan building, where Saif Ali Khan resides with his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their two sons, Jeh and Taimur, by scaling a wall from an adjacent compound. Familiar with the building’s layout, the intruder avoided CCTV cameras and used a rear staircase to access the fire escape, eventually entering the apartment.
The incident began around 2 am when Jeh’s nanny, Eliyama Philip, noticed the bathroom light on and assumed it was Kareena Kapoor. However, her suspicions were confirmed when she saw a man emerge from the bathroom and enter Jeh and Taimur’s room. When confronted, the intruder demanded ₹1 crore and attacked Philip when she tried to fight him off. Another house help, Junu, immediately rushed to wake up Saif Ali Khan.

A Fight for Survival
Upon being alerted, Saif Ali Khan confronted the intruder and was stabbed six times during the altercation. Despite his injuries, Khan, with the help of another house help, Geeta, managed to overpower the intruder and lock him in a room. The family sought refuge on the upper floor of their residence.
However, by the time police arrived, the intruder had escaped. CCTV footage captured him fleeing through the sixth floor of the building. Police suspect he used the fire shaft to reach the ground floor and exited through a back door.
Investigation
The attack lasted for 30 harrowing minutes, leaving Khan bleeding profusely. With no vehicles readily available, he was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in an auto-rickshaw. Doctors performed plastic surgeries on his hand and neck and repaired the spinal injury caused by the knife, which had lodged near his spine, leading to a leakage of spinal fluid.
Police have registered a case of robbery, trespassing, and grievous hurt. Twenty teams have been deployed to track and apprehend the suspect. Authorities suspect the involvement of someone familiar with the household, possibly a staff member who facilitated the intruder’s entry.
The incident has caused widespread concern in the Bollywood community, with calls for better security measures. Actor Pooja Bhatt expressed her unease, urging state authorities to enhance police presence in Bandra.
