King Khan voted #1 in the TIME100 Reader Poll, while legendary footballer Messi claims the 5th spot
Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan has secured the top spot in the TIME100 Reader Poll, where readers voted for personalities they believe deserve a place on TIME magazine’s annual list of the most influential people. Shah Rukh Khan outshined renowned personalities such as Oscar-winner Michelle Yeoh, tennis star Serena Williams, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. After over 1.2 million votes were cast, Khan emerged as the winner with 4% of the vote.
Other Top Personalities in the TIME100 Reader Poll
Following Shah Rukh Khan, Iranian women fighting for freedom claimed the second position. Healthcare workers ranked third, receiving 2% of the total vote. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, obtained 1.9% of the vote, securing the 4th position. Legendary football player Lionel Messi came in 5th, earning 1.8% of the vote.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Illustrious Career
Over several decades, Shah Rukh Khan has starred in more than 100 films. After a four-year hiatus, the actor made a remarkable return in 2023 with the blockbuster hit Pathaan, co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. In recent years, SRK has focused on film production and making cameo appearances in various movies. His latest production, the 2022 film Darlings, was co-produced with lead actress Alia Bhatt. Additionally, Khan is the co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders IPL cricket team.
Upcoming Projects for Shah Rukh Khan
The actor’s next projects include Atlee’s Jawan, featuring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, and Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, co-starring Taapsee Pannu. Both films are set to release this year.
