Woman Beaten and paraded naked in Dhanbad
In a distressing episode from a village under Sariya police jurisdiction, approximately 70 km from Giridih district’s center, a woman underwent a horrifying ordeal. The incident, which took place on Wednesday night, saw the woman being violently attacked, disgracefully paraded without clothes, and subsequently bound to a tree.
Upon receiving information about the grim situation, a prompt response team from Sariya police station intervened, rescuing the victim from her dire predicament. Four individuals, including Vikash Sonar, Shravan Kumar, Rekha Devi, and Munni Devi, have been arrested concerning the matter. An FIR under IPC Section 122/23 has been lodged against the alleged perpetrators at the Sariya police station.
Giridih district’s reports sketch a chilling narrative where two young men supposedly lured the woman using a phone call around 8 pm. Deceptively leading her into a nearby forest, they, along with other accomplices, subjected her to physical abuse, stripped her of her dignity, and tethered her to a tree.
DSP Sanjay Rana from Giridih’s headquarters relayed to the media that the heinous act stemmed from a dispute related to a romantic relationship. Taking cognizance of the gravity of the incident, Giridih’s Superintendent of Police directed an investigative team, led by Saria-Bagodar SDPO Naushad Alam, to probe further into the unsettling matter.
Such incidents shake the core of societal values, highlighting the urgent need for stronger community vigilance and more stringent law enforcement.
